Time for another dram!
A Romanian Single Malt, part of Carpathian Single Malt's Spirit Cask Collection

A bit about
Carpathian Single Malt Cognac Cask Finish is part of the brand's Spirit Cask Collection, along with the Rhum Cask Finish.
Matured first in ex-Kentucky bourbon barrels, then finished in ex-French Cognac casks, the Cognac Finish has 46% ABV, is non-chill-filtered and has a (natural) beautiful gold colour.
Mine was bottle no 203 of 707, cask no 3849, bottled in 2023.

Time to try it
Nose: Fruity, tropical fruit (mainly pineapple and banana)
Palate: Not too sweet with honey and vanilla
Finish: Long, pleasantly round, lightly fruity

Pros and Cons
As delightful as this is neat, I much prefer this one over ice, or at least with a few drops of cold water.
If you're looking for a Carpathian Single Malt to enjoy neat, perhaps try the Barolo Cask Finish or the Pedro Ximenez Cask Finish.
If you're looking for a smoky/peated whisky, you will have to skip this one as it has no trace of peat, and perhaps try the Ledaig 10, Lagavulin 8 or Talisker 10.
The Cognac Cask Finish has been absolutely fabulous in all the cocktails I've tried so far with it: Highball, Whisky Sour, Rob Roy and Old Fashioned.

In Conclusion
For me, the Carpathian Single Malt Cognac Finish has a good amount of flavour, balanced out beautifully with a delicate sweetness.
Priced at around £60 on most UK websites, I think this one is a nice dram to try, especially in summer.
