The Carpathian Single Malt Barolo Cask Finish is a delicious whisky part of the Italian Wine Cask Collection range.

A bit about
Matured for over three years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then finished in ex-Barolo casks, the Carpathian Single Malt Barolo Cask Finish has a natural, beautiful copper colour, is non-chill filtered and has 46% ABV.

Time to try it
Nose: Sweet, ripe forest fruit with honey and pepper
Palate: Delicate sweetness with a bit of pepperiness
Finish: Long, pleasant, with layers of sweetness and spice

Pros and Cons
I've tried the Barolo Cask Finish neat, with a few drops of water, as well as over ice, and so far, I've much preferred it neat. It's more on the lighter side, so any type of mixer added will dilute its delicious but subtle flavours.
Whether you decide to enjoy it neat or with a mixer, I think this one is perfect for spring and summer, as it has just the right amount of flavour and richness.

In Conclusion
For me, the Carpathian Single Malt Barolo Cask Finish is a super-easy-to-drink whisky.
Priced at around £60 on most UK websites, I think it's a great whisky to sip.
