Time for another dram!
A smoky and peppery Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A bit about
Aged in American Oak Casks, Talisker 10 has a beautiful light gold colour and 45.8% ABV.
So far, it has won quite a number of awards including:
Double Gold for Single Malt Scotch - to 12 years in 2013 and 2022 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition,
Silver in 2014 and Gold in 2013 and 2022 for Highlands & Islands up to 12 years at The Scotch Whisky Masters (The Spirits Business)
Silver for Distillers' Single Malts 12 years and under in 2022 at the International Spirits Challenge
Bronze for Islands Single Malt 12 Years and Under in 2014 at the World Whiskies Awards

Time to try it!
Nose: Pleasantly peaty and sweet with a bit of maritime salinity
Palate: Peaty with toffee, brine and black pepper, with a touch of fresh orchard fruit
Finish: Long-ish, sweet and smoky.

Pros and cons
Very easy to drink, with the peat pleasantly balanced with the saltiness and fruitiness.
For me, it feels less salty than the Aerstone Sea Cask, and not as heavily peated as the Ledaig 10, so if you're just starting to explore peated whiskies, I think this is a good one to add to your list.
I've tried this neat, as well as over ice, and it was just as enjoyable either way.

In conclusion
Priced at around £45 on most UK websites, I think the Talisker 10 is a nice peated whisky to have around the house.

As always, please drink responsibly.
