Time for another dram!
A Single Malt London Whisky fully matured in a 1st-Fill Ex-Bourbon American Oak Cask.

A bit about
Bimber's USA Edition is a Single Cask Release with 56.3% ABV, a natural light amber colour, and it is non-chill-filtered. 247 bottles were released (CASK REF. 400).
The USA Edition is part of the Spirit of the Game Collection, along with the Mexico Edition and the Canada Edition.

Time to try it!
Nose: Fresh, mainly unripe apricot and peach slice, floral, with some spice and vanilla ice cream
Palate: Velvety, oaky, quite nutty, with toffee and some dark chocolate notes and lingering citrus
Finish: Medium, with some bitter almond and lime peel

Pros and Cons
Not as herbal as the Mexico Edition, with an intriguing mix of unripe orchard fruit, oak and floral notes. It somehow doesn't feel quite like your usual ex-bourbon cask (and yes, I know, they're all different, but you still have quite a few similarities between numerous casks), and, more to the point, it's different from other full-maturation ex-bourbon casks I've tried from Bimber.
In Conclusion
Bimber's USA Edition is quite a unique whisky matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask. Some of the usual - oak, citrus, vanilla notes are still to be found, just not in the proportion I would have expected. It was a very pleasant surprise.
Currently out of stock, it was released in June 2026, and it was priced at £98 if bought on its own on Bimber's official website, or £348 if bought as part of the trio (with the Mexico Edition and the Canada Edition), in a hand-numbered matching box set.

As always, please drink responsibly.
