Time for another dram!
A triple-distilled Single Malt Lowland Scotch Whisky

A bit about
Auchentoshan (pronounced 'Ock-un-tosh-un') is a Glasgow Distillery that has been in business since 1823, producing Lowland triple-distilled whisky.
Matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, the Auchentoshan 12 has 40% ABV.
The Auchentoshan 12 has won quite a few awards at international competitions, such as Silver in 2021 and Gold in 2022 in the Single Malt Scotch - to 12 Yrs Category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Silver in 2014 and Gold in 2020 and 2021 in the Distillers' Single Malts 12 years and under Category at the International Spirits Challenge.

Time to try it!
Nose: Nutty and grassy with fragrant citrus (lime and mandarins)
Palate: Very light, citrusy, with lime peel and a bit of caramel
Finish: Medium, quite on the dry side, slightly nutty, with more lime peel lingering in the end

Pros and Cons
Like most of Auchentoshan's whiskies, this one is also quite an easy-drinker.
If you're looking for a peated one or a heavily sherried one, the Auchentoshan 12 is certainly not it. Light, with delicate flavours, nothing necessarily overpowering, it's a pleasant whisky to enjoy, no matter the season.
I'm not the biggest fan of the nose of this one, but, for the price (around £35 on most UK websites) I can't complain too much.

In Conclusion
If you're curious about Lowland whiskies or triple-distilled whiskies that are more on the mellow side, then, by all means, give this one a go. You can find it by clicking/tapping here.

As always, please drink responsibly.
