Whisky 52 - a Subscription Service which delivers a different 35ml bottle of whisky to your door every month.

After trying Wine 52 and Beer 52, it was time to try their whisky subscription service, which claims to deliver exclusive releases from both new and established distilleries from around the world.

How does this work?

Once you create an account, which takes a couple of minutes, there's not much else to do but wait to receive your whisky. For me, it arrived in 2-3 days, along with a small magazine called 'Stramash', where I found a bit more info about the whisky shipped and the distillery which made it.

After your first delivery, you get billed monthly, on the date on which you created your account/made the first purchase. You have the option of pausing for a month or cancelling through your online account.

Would I recommend Whisky 52?

It honestly depends on what you want. If you're vaguely new to the whisky world and have no idea what to try, and don't mind spending £35 on 35ml of whisky, then this might actually be a good idea. You don't get to choose what is being sent, so you're always going to be surprised. They seem to have a decent variety of whiskies, plus you don't need to do anything, as it gets sent automatically to your house.

If you're a whisky enthusiast, this might not be the best option for you, as you might have already tried some of the bottles being sent (if you go to whisky festivals), or you already know at least a few decent whiskies under or around this price range, and they happen to be full-sized bottles (Such as the Bushmills 10, Glen Moray, or Aerstone Sea Cask).

Have you ever tried them? What's your experience with them? Please let me know in the comments below.

I hope life treats you well.

Take care.
