Time to try it

Nose: Vanilla and fudge, very lightly floral and a bit citrusy

Palate: Toffee and cereal with lime zest, somewhat sweet

Finish: Short-ish, but nice, with more citrus and a hint of spice

Pros and Cons

So far, for me, it's a very easy-going whisky. Although pretty light, it has a decent amount of flavour, but lacks a few layers of something different that would make me want to buy another bottle the second this one finishes. It's delightful, don't get me wrong, just very light overall,

There is no trace of peat/smoke, so if you're looking for something peated, you might want to try the Lagavulin 8, or, for something lightly peated, perhaps try the Penderyn Peated.

In conclusion

I prefer this one with a big ice cube, or at least a few drops of cold water, rather than neat, but it's worth trying either way. I have not tried any cocktails yet with the Tomintul 10, and I have not combined it with any types of mixers, so unfortunately, I cannot advise in this department.

Priced at around £40 for a 70cl bottle on most UK websites (£23 for a 35cl bottle), I think the Tomintoul 10 is a pretty pleasant dram to sip on any given day, no matter the season.

If you want to give this one a try, you can find it here.
