Time for another dram!
A Blended Whisky, product of Japan.

A bit about
Made by Matsui Shuzou in the Kurayoshi Distillery (in the Tottori Prefecture of Japan), the Tottori Blended has 43% ABV, is non-chill-filtered, has a natural golden colour, and was aged for 3 to 5 years in American white oak barrels.
To make this Blended Whisky, malt and grain whiskies have been vatted, with mineral water from Mt Daisen, filtered through volcanic rock being used to get the blend to reach 43% ABV.

Time to try it!
Nose: Very light on the nose with a bit of spice and some fresh apple and pear slice
Palate: Unripe apricot and lime zest (especially towards the end), lightly sweet with a bit of unripe gages and some nuttiness (more towards stone fruit pits)
Finish: Medium, with lingering honey sweetness, bitter almond, and lime and lemon zest

Pros and Cons
Overall, it's just very delicate on the palate, with some lingering lemon peel and bitter almond notes lingering in the finish.
For me, this one is better without any addition of water. Neat, it already feels way less than the stated ABV, so adding anything, be it ice or water, would not help it much.
It's good in a highball on a summer day or just for sipping, as it is, neat.

In Conclusion
Priced at around £53 on most UK websites, it's a nice blend to try neat or to have around the house to experiment with summery cocktails. The delicate, fruity, and nutty layers come across pretty well in a highball. Will it change your view of whisky or blends in general? Probably not, but it's still a very pleasant dram to try.
