The Storyteller Bourbon, The Bootzamon Wheated Bourbon & The Roggenwolf Rye
I was lucky enough to try these three beautiful bourbons at their launch in February at 3 Greek Street, Soho. The guys from The Story of... seek out interesting barrels of ryes and bourbons and release them either as an individual barrel or in small batches, at very reasonable prices.
The Storyteller Bourbon

The Storyteller Bourbon is a Bourbon Whiskey distilled in Kentucky, and bottled at cask-strength - 202 bottles were produced at 54.4% ABV. It was aged for 5 years, 8 months and 4 days.
It's delightfully rounded, with layers of fruit (peaches and apricots predominantly), vanilla fudge, oak and a touch of baking spices. It goes down a treat, and it instantly became my new favourite sipping bourbon whiskey.

The Bootzamon Wheated Bourbon

The Bootzamon Wheated Bourbon was distilled in Kentucky and aged for 7 years, 11 months and 16 days. It has 56.6% ABV and a mash bill containing 45% wheat. It's not as sweet on the nose or palate as the Storyteller, and it goes fantastically well in an old-fashioned cocktail, where the dried fruit and baking spices aromas get a chance to shine. I much prefer this one over ice, or at least with a few drops of cold water. 400 bottles were produced.
The Roggenwolf Rye

The Roggenwolf Rye was distilled in Kentucky and aged for 6 years, 7 months and 18 days.
With 95% rye in the mashbill, and 191 bottles produced, this one has 63.7% ABV and a lovely rye sweetness coming through the characteristic rye spiciness. It's a lovely rye to sip, whether neat or with a few drops of cold water.
If you want to give some of their bourbons a try, you can find a few options here.

As always, please drink responsibly.
