Sáltment (Spice Blends & Seasonings)

Updated: Jun 18, 2023

Saltment Spice Blends and Seasonings

If you happen to be like me and find yourself struggling to come up with gift ideas generally, this time of the year can be a bit more stressful than usual. Whether we're talking about Christmas presents or stocking fillers, I know that not every gift will be suitable for everyone.

Fortunately, there are a few out there which might tick the box for quite a lot of your friends or family members. They might not all enjoy the same exotic teas and organic dark chocolate as you, but quite a lot of people (definitely most people I know) like their food to be as tasty as possible. If that's the case, special blends of spices and seasonings might be an answer to your Christmas gift question. A little search led me to Sáltment, and I had to try things for myself before ordering because it was just too tempting.

Sáltment is a Nottingham-based business specializing in spice blends and seasonings.

They offer unique combinations of Himalayan salt, herbs and spices, designed to enhance your food of choice.

You can find their products divided into Salt, Pepper, Cheese, and Spice Blends. You can order them individually and you also have the option of box sets. With the box sets, you can create your own and choose 4 out of 12 available there or you can opt for pre-made ones such as The Classic, The Thai Box, or Cheese Lover.

The Classic Box spice blend from Saltment

I opted for the Classic box set which includes Lucky 13, Green Thai, Hot Stuff and Mamacita's Fajitas (all 35g pouches). I also added the Pizza Cheese Repeat blend to the order because my cheese addiction needed my attention.

All pouches are resealable, and, unless you cook for a large family, should last for a few servings. From what I can see, the Spice Blends seem to be vegan-friendly and gluten-free, with no preservatives, additives or food colourings.

The Cheese blends are suitable for vegetarians, are also gluten-free and free from additives, preservatives and food colouring.

The 35g pouches are packed in an FDA-approved heat-sealed pouch.

The 75g version is a clear cellophane bag.

The spices are packed in a box that will fit through the letterbox, so whether it's a present or a personal order, you don't need to worry about the delivery. You can order on Etsy

You can also find Sáltment on Facebook or Instagram.

If you decide to give them a try, feel free to use any of the spice blends as you desire. I plan to add them to salads, pasta, sprinkle them on fried or scrambled eggs, and add them to my favourite sauces. On their website and Facebook page, Sáltment does offer a few suggestions for how some of their products can be used, but ultimately, the choice is obviously yours.

As you can see below, I've tried a few of them. 'Green Thai' is exactly what I wanted, 'Pizza, Cheese, Repeat' is a bit different than what I expected, but definitely delicious and 'Lucky 13', (made of 13 different spices) went great on a variety of meats and vegetables thrown on the BBQ.

If you are looking for Christmas gift ideas, I think any spice blend or seasoning from Sáltment would make a great present for anyone who loves super tasty food.
