A super-easy-to-drink Korean Single Grain Whisky.

A bit about
Distilled in Yeoju, South Korea, by Hwayo Distillery, Hwayo Single Grain is made with 100% rice and water from the Yeoju province. It is matured in American oak barrels and has 40% ABV.

Time to try it!
Nose: Delicately fruity with a hint of rice
Palate: Soft on the palate, sweet, with a bit of honey, toffee and vanilla pudding
Finish: Medium and sweet

Pros and Cons
I prefer the Hwayo Single Grain neat, but it's just as enjoyable if you add a few drops of cold water or an ice cube.
I haven't tried any cocktails with it, nor have I tried it with any mixers, so, unfortunately, I cannot advise when it comes to these.
The one and only (major) downside for me is the fact that I found this delightful drink in France while browsing the whisky section, and so far, I haven't seen it on any UK websites. The 50cl bottle I found in a shop in Arles (France) was 35 euros.

In conclusion
For me, the Hwayo Single Grain is quite nicely balanced in terms of flavour and sweetness, and overall, a super-easy-to-drink whisky, great for any season, but particularly for summer.

As always, please drink responsibly.
