Time for another dram!
A Blended Bulgarian Whisky

A bit about
Produced and bottled in Bulgaria, the Black Ram is a blended whisky with 40% ABV.
The only info that can be seen on the bottle is that colouring has been used for this whisky and that it was matured in oak casks.
A few other versions of this whisky seem to be available: Apple, Bourbon Cask Finish and Honey.

Time to try it
Nose: Hints of caramel and vanilla fudge, and some fruityness (citrusy), but barely noticeable
Palate: A bit of citrus and cocoa, quite gently sweet.
Finish: Medium, dry, metallic, oaky

Pros and Cons
I would not recommend this one neat, but if you add a few drops of cold water, or serve it over ice, it's pretty palatable and you can feel more of the fruity/citrusy flavours. Works even better with mixers, but I wouldn't risk making any cocktails with it.

In Conclusion
The 20cl bottle I have was purchased from a Romanian shop for around £6. You can find a 70cl bottle for anything between £14 and £20 on some UK websites but I'm not sure I would actually recommend this one unless you're fantastically curious about world or blended whiskies in general.
If you want to give other (considerably more flavourful) European whiskies a try, you can find them here.

As always, please drink responsibly.
