Time for another dram!
An 11-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A bit about
Part of One Cask at a Time's Cronograph Collection, along with the Glentauchers 2009, the Ben Nevis 2012 is a Single Cask whisky - Cask no 1487 to be specific, distilled 13/11/12 and launched in 2025. 307 Bottles were produced.
It has 56.1 % ABV, it is non-chill-filtered, and has a natural pale gold colour.

Time to try it!
Nose: Floral, with orchard fruit (apples and pears mainly), coconut water, very delicate but pleasant aromas
Palate: Oak, bitter almonds, a bit of caramel and poached pears, overall a slight oily mouthfeel
Finish: Long, with lingering fruit (plum and pear), oak and a slight almond and lime peel bitterness towards the very end

Pros and Cons
Nose-wise, there's quite a lot happening, it's a bit feinty, quite a lot fruity, with much to offer. I'm a fan of the delicate oiliness and how it feels overall on the palate, especially given the slightly higher ABV. The only downside for me was how extra citrussy it seemed to be in the finish.

In Conclusion
Certainly a very intriguing dram to try, the Ben Nevis 2012 has quite a fresh feel to it and an enjoyable mix of flavours.
It is priced at £89 on the One Cask at a Time website.

As always, please drink responsibly.
