Time for another dram!
A Limited Release Speyside Single Malt, part of Murray McDavid's Benchmark range.

A bit about
The Aultmore 14 has 48.5% ABV and is non-chill-filtered, with a natural, light gold colour. It was distilled in 2009, aged in first-fill bourbon casks from Koval Distillery, USA, and bottled in 2023. 1267 bottles were available.

Time to try it!
Nose: Red apple freshness with custard and apricot
Palate: Slightly oily, creamy, with quite a bit of spice to start, then followed by banana notes and a bit of lime peel towards the end
Finish: Medium, slightly spicy, delicately sweet and gently fruity

Pros and Cons
An absolutely delicious dram, it got demolished in no time (I did share this with a friend, don't worry, I had help). It has a very pleasant nose, it's beautiful on the palate, followed by a lingering, delicate finish. I honestly cannot fault it; it goes down a treat.
As far as I can remember, up until now, I've enjoyed everything I've tried from Murray McDavid. This is an older release, but every time they launch anything else, I'm genuinely curious what they've come up with.
The Aultmore 14 is/was priced at around £80 on most UK websites.

As always, please drink responsibly.
