Time for another dram!
A blended Japanese whisky from Nikka's Yoichi Distillery.

A bit about
The Yoichi Distillery, located in Hokkaido, Japan, is Nikka's first distillery, founded in 1934.
Select malt and grain whiskies are used for this no-age-statement blend, which has 40% ABV. It is chill-filtered, and colouring has been used to achieve its gold colour.

Time to try it!
Nose: Sweet and citrusy with toffee and a hint of salinity
Palate: It starts smoky, sweet (toffee) and very mellow on the palate, with fruitiness to follow (apples, apricots and pineapple)
Finish: Medium, with bitter almonds and citrus zest (grapefruit and lime)

Pros and Cons
Overall, it's a very gentle dram. Delicate on the nose, pretty delicate on the palate as well, with quite a short finish. This one might be a good entry-level whisky for someone not too familiar with Japanese whiskies.
Online, you can find this blended whisky for anything between £50 to £120 or more.

In Conclusion
I'm not the biggest fan of the bitter and slightly dry finish, but what it lacks in the finish, it definitely makes up for on the nose and palate. It's a very easy-to-drink whisky, but I can't say it stands out in any way for me.
As always, please drink responsibly.
