Time for another dram!
A blended 'world' whisky with Japanese and Scottish components.

A bit about
Nikka Session is a blend of whiskies from Nikka's Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, as well as whiskies from the Ben Nevis distillery in Scotland.
It is a no-age-statement, has 43% ABV and a light gold colour.

Time to try it
Nose: Quite rich but not overpowering, lightly floral and fruity, with a bit of salted caramel and ginger
Palate: Ripe orchard fruit, sultanas, and slight pepperiness
Finish: Medium, malty, dry towards the end

Pros and Cons
One of the biggest downsides is that I found this whisky quite frequently in local Japanese shops, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be that easy to find in other countries.
It's great for sipping and great in a highball cocktail.

In Conclusion
Overall, the Nikka Session is a pretty mellow, easy-to-drink blend.
Whether you enjoy this neat or in a highball, it is certainly worth a try.
I found my little 180 ml bottle in either a Donki or 7-Eleven in Kyoto during my most recent trip to Japan, for the equivalent of £15 (I cannot remember exactly - sorry). If you want to give this whisky a try, you can sometimes find it here.

As always, please drink responsibly.
