Turntable Track 07 - Whisky Review

Time for another dram!

Track 07 - Born to be Wild, a Blended Scotch Whisky from Turntable Blending House

A bit about

Launched in October 2025, Track 07 is a Blended Whisky containing 37% Ardnamurchan (Peated Sherry Butt), 18% Raasay (Peated Chinkapin Barrel), 16% Lochlea (1st Fill Bourbon Barrel), 15% Nc'Nean (1st Fill Bourbon Barrel) and 14% Port Dundas (Refill Bourbon Barrel).

This Limited Edition was bottled at 53% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with a natural colour

As a small disclaimer, I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Track 07, which is where some of the pictures are from; they also provided the sample bottle.

Time to try it

Nose: Sea salt, barley, smoke, marshmallow sweetness

Palate: Sweet (honey) and very pleasantly smoky (BBQ smoke), with a bit of ginger and pepperyness towards the end

Finish: Medium, with lingering peach, apricots and barley

Pros and Cons

I like the ABV, it's exactly as strong as it needed to be for everything to balance out neatly

I'm a fan of the amount of sweet and smoky flavours - great enough to be thoroughly enjoyed but not too overpowering (which matters quite a lot for someone like me who is pretty picky when it comes to peated whiskies)

I've had it neat, as well as with a few drops of water and enjoyed it either way, but I haven't tried any cocktails with this one yet; I've liked it too much neat to even have the time to think about it.

In Conclusion

Priced at around £79, I think it's a fantastic sweet and smoky blend to try. It is a limited edition (somewhere around 1800 bottles), so not sure how readily available you will find this, but if you do, give it a try, you won't regret it.

After this one, I'm quite curious what other blends Turntable will come up with.
