Time for another dram!
A Blended Scotch Whisky, part of the Famous Grouse range.

A bit about
A blended whisky with 40% ABV, chill-filtered and with gold colour achieved with the addition of E150a (caramel colouring), The Famous One is the most recent addition to the Famous Grouse range.
Matured in ex-bourbon casks and American oak sherry-seasoned casks, the Famous One was launched in 2022.

Time to try it!
Nose: Vanilla, honey sweetness with a bit of caramel
Palate: As rich as expected from the nose, with some fresh fruit (trace amounts of apple, pear, peach and apricot) and delicate sweetness
Finish: Quite short, with some fruitiness (and some lime zest)

Pros and Cons
For me, this one is better than the Famous Grouse as it has more layers to both nose and palate, and it overall feels richer and fruitier, or the less-watered-down version, if you wish.
As with The Famous Grouse and the Smoky Black, I would still recommend this one for cocktails rather than for sipping neat.

In Conclusion
While the other versions are available in most UK shops/retailers, The Famous One is only available for purchase online.
Priced at around £23, it's the 'premium' version of the Famous Grouse, having a few extra layers of flavour to offer.
I much prefer this one to others from their range, but can't honestly say that I'm a fan. It's not bad, but also not that memorable.

As always, please drink responsibly.
