Time for another dram!
Nc'Nean Organic Single Malt
An organic Single Malt Scotch Whisky with net zero carbon emissions.
A bit about
According to their website, Nc'nean is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, an ancient Gaelic Queen/Goddess.
Nc'Nean has 46% ABV and is made with 100% organic Scottish barley. They claim to have net zero carbon emissions and to bottle their products in 100% recycled glass. So far it sounds, good, but now it's time to try it.
Before purchasing a bottle I had the option of sampling it. The sample arrived, as you can see, in a 50ml pouch inside a small, recyclable cardboard box. You can tear the corner of the box as well as the pouch's corner, pour and enjoy.
Time to try it
Nose: Light and fruity with a bit of toffee and vanilla
Taste: Peachy, a bit citrusy (mainly lime), quite sweet, spicy but gentle on the palate.
Finish: Quite long, very slightly oaky with a bit more spice towards the very end.
In Conclusion
Priced at around £50 on most UK websites, it's certainly a very interesting dram to try.
It's very smooth and light for its 46% ABV, it's quite fruity and super easy to drink.
I like the fact that they're being eco-friendly yet they haven't compromised on taste.
