Time for another dram!
A Limited Batch Cask Strength Highland Single Malt Whisky from Glengoyne Distillery

A bit about
Glengoyne is a distillery with quite a bit of history, having been around since 1883.
They are known for their slow distillation, air-dried, unpeated malt and overall sweet and fruity flavour profile.
The Cask Strength Batch No 10 was matured in a combination of first-fill Oloroso casks, bourbon barrels and refill casks. It has 59.5% ABV, it is non-chill-filtered and has a gorgeous natural colour.

Time to try it!
Nose: Shaper than expected, slightly floral, quite fruity with ripe pears
Palate: Velvety and oily on the palate, with layers of lemon zest and honey sweetness, all beautifully rounded
Finish: Long and lingering with oak, lemon zest, lemon pith and some bitter almond

Pros and Cons
I'll be honest with you, this bottle got opened while in the company of friends, and it nearly got demolished in a relatively short amount of time. I had to remind myself I've taken no notes, so I had to stop the fun just so I have something to review. To summarise, it goes down a treat. I've not tried any of the other cask strength releases from Glengoyne, but consider me a fan.
In Conclusion
It has just the right amount of depth and flavour for it to be a wonderful sipping whisky, no matter the weather. I prefer it neat as it coats the palate beautifully, and you barely notice the ABV. Adding a few drops of water only lightened the oiliness without affecting much of the flavour profile or any potential ABV sharpness (but it might be just me, please experiment and let me know how it went).

As always, please drink responsibly.
