Time for another dram!
An easygoing Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A bit about
Don't have too much info about the Cardhu 12 apart from the fact that the whisky has been aged in oak barrels, it has 40% ABV, and colouring has been added to achieve its golden colour.
When it comes to awards, it won Silver at the International Spirits Challenge in 2014 and double Gold in 2011 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Time to try it!
Nose: Very delicate with some light fruitiness (pears and apples mainly)
Palate: Mellow, with caramel, pear, and some honeydew melon hints
Finish: Medium, with lingering citrus and slight oak dryness

Pros and Cons
It's lovely to sip no matter the weather, and I do prefer this one neat, as adding any water will dilute too much the already delicate aromas.
But, as always, enjoy your whisky as you desire - with a few drops of water, over ice, in a cocktail (great for a highball), or even in desserts. For me, the Cardhu 12 has been great in chocolate truffles (see below), as well as paired with them, and great in Whisky Cookies.

In Conclusion
If you're new to the whisky world, this one is a good one to start with - quite mellow, flavourful but not overpowering.
