Time for another drink!
A Classic Junmai Sake, product of the USA

A bit about
Produced and bottled by Takara Sake USA Inc., in Berkley, CA, Sho Chiku Bai Classic Junmai Sake has 15% ABV.
It is clear, with a very slight golden hue.
SMV +3, Rice polishing ratio 70%
Founded in 1983, Takara Sake uses water from the Sierra Nevada Mountains and rice grown in the Sacramento Valley. They also make shochu, mirin, plum wine and flavoured sake.

Time to try it!
Sho Chiku Bai is very delicate on the nose, but not as delicate on the palate, especially if not consumed warm. When warmed, it becomes softer on the palate, and more of the green apple and custard flavours come out.
It has an interesting, pale sweetness to it, although it is overall more on the dry side.

Pros and cons
Compared to Sawanotsuru, which is in a similar price range, this one feels a bit less flavourful, or with fewer layers.
I wouldn't pair this with dishes which are too flavourful, as most of the delicate aromas will blend too easily with the food.

In Conclusion
It's considerably better if enjoyed warm, or at least at room temperature.
If you're looking for an ok sake to have with your meal, and this is the only option, then you will be ok. If you want something more flavourful, then you might find a few here.
As always, please drink responsibly.
