Time for another dram!
A blended whisky with a delicate fruity aroma, product of Okinawa, Japan

A bit about
Blended in Okinawa, Japan, it is produced and then aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon casks in Scotland, then for nearly 2 years in mizunara (Japanese oak casks) in Okinawa, where it is married with water from a World Heritage Site.
It has 47% ABV, it has a natural colour, and it is non-chill-filtered.

Time to try it!
Nose: Sandalwood, spice, caramel and a bit of oak
Palate: Very pleasant, quite an oily mouthfeel, with pleasant sweetness, dried tropical fruit and coconut
Finish: Long, with layers of frutiness, you can feel the Japanese Oak Cask influence

Pros and Cons
Although it's been aged for nearly 5 years, it still feels somewhat like a very young whisky.
For me, this one is a lovely whisky to sip on a warm summer day. It has delightful but delicate aromas, making it a good choice for anyone beginning their whisky journey.
If you're looking for a full-bodied or peated whisky, this is certainly not the one for you, but if you're curious about blends, especially ones aged in Mizunara Casks, then this is certainly an interesting one to try.

In conclusion
A sweet and fruity dram, great neat or over ice, the Sakhrani Mizunara is certainly an interesting addition to the whisky market.
If you want to give this whisky a try, you can find it here.
After trying this one, I'm looking forward to trying the Chestnut Wood Finish and the Sakura Cherry Wood Finish.

As always, please drink responsibly.
