Time for another dram!
A Single Malt Welsh Whisky, great for sipping

A bit about
Matured in ex-bourbon and rejuvenated European ex-wine casks, the Penderyn Rich Oak has 46% ABV, a natural colour and is non-chill filtered.

Time to try it
Nose: Oaky and delicately sweet, peppery with banana and fresh apple slice
Palate: Oaky with cinnamon and vanilla fudge
Finish: Long and complex with even more oak and vanilla

Pros and Cons
If you're looking for an oaky, rich/full full-bodied whisky, then this might be the one for you. When it says 'Rich Oak', it certainly delivers, and more.
It has no trace of peat, so if that's what you're looking for, then the Penderyn Peated might be a better alternative from this distillery.
For me, this one is great either neat or with a large ice cube for summertime (it gets more of the sweetness out, and tones down the oak a bit).
I've enjoyed it too much as it is, so I haven't tried to make any cocktails with it yet (if you have, please let me know how it went)

In Conclusion
Quite full-bodied, with a rich array of aromas, this whisky has, at least in my opinion, quite a lot to offer.
Priced at around £47 on most UK websites, I think the Penderyn Rich Oak is a great whisky to sip. If you want to give this whisky a try, you can find it here.
As always, please drink responsibly.
