Time for another dram!
The world's best-selling Irish Whiskey

A bit about
A triple-distilled blend of pot still and grain whiskies, Jameson is produced, distilled and matured in Ireland by Pernod Ricard at the New Middleton Distillery in County Cork.
Founded in 1780 by John Jameson, it is currently the world's best-selling Irish Whiskey, followed by Tullamore D.E.W. and Bushmills.
It won Silver in 2017 and 2019 in the Irish Blended - Standard category at the Irish Whisky Masters (The Spirits Business) and Gold in 2018 and 2020 in the Irish Blended - Premium category at the same event. It also won Bronze in 2013 in the Blended Irish Whiskey category at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Time to try it!
Nose: Very light on the nose with a little bit of citrus and floral notes
Palate: Delicately sweet, with more citrus on the palate (lime peel)
Finish: Short with quite a bit of citrus peel dryness and oak.

Pros and Cons
Being overall quite gentle, with nothing overpowering or necessarily standing out, it is quite versatile, and therefore pretty good for an Irish Coffee or most cocktails, such as Highball, Whisky Sour, Old-Fashioned, Irish Maid, Irish Mule, or a Green Tea Shot. You can also serve it with Ginger Ale or Lemonade if you want a summery, refreshing drink.
Is this a good whiskey to sip? Unfortunately, not for me. The fact that it's very mellow does not bother me in any way, but the lack of any complexity certainly does. I wish I had more tasting notes to report, unfortunately there's just not much going on there.

In Conclusion
If you want a cheap whiskey to have around the house (around £24), ready to experiment with any sort of whiskey-based cocktails, then, by all means, go for it.
If you're still searching for Irish Whiskeys and looking for something with a bit more character, a bit more depth, then perhaps try the Green Spot, Bushmills 10 or Tullamore D.E.W.

As always, please drink responsibly.
