Time for another dram!
A Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Campbeltown - Scotland's smallest whisky region.

A bit about
A no-age statement Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Glen Scotia Distillery in Campbeltown. It was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and finished for 12 months in ex-PX sherry casks.
Glen Scotia Double Cask has 46% ABV, a rich amber colour, and it is non-chill-filtered.
So far, it has won Gold in 2020 at the World Whisky Awards, Gold in 2021 at the Scotch Whisky Masters - The Whisky Business, and Gold in 2023 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Time to try it!
Nose: Fruity, with apple, cinnamon, lemon zest dryness and a hint of salt
Palate: Quite mellow on the palate, with a pleasant sweetness and a bit of lemon peel
Finish: Short, with a white-wine dryness, a bit of spice and bitter almond traces

Pros and Cons
Although an interesting dram, I can't say it's made its way to the favourites list, but it is ok as a sipping whisky on a warm spring or summer day.
Overall, it has some layers of fruitiness combined with a dry lemon oil freshness.

In Conclusion
I'm not the biggest fan of the dry lime peel aftertaste, or the overall dryness of it all. It's decently balanced, just not ideal for my palate.
It has some of the usual Campbeltown elements - oily and with some salinity, so if you like your drams with these qualities and quite on the dry citrusy side, then by all means give it a go.
You can find it on most UK websites priced at around £40.
