The Strawberry and Mint Bourbon Smash is a delicious summery cocktail. Fruity and sweet, it's perfect for any summer celebration.
You will need:
50ml bourbon
3-4 strawberries to muddle plus 1 sliced for garnish
15 ml sugar syrup/gomme
10ml lemon juice
4-5 mint leaves to muddle plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
a splash of soda water if needed
optional 5 ml grenadine

How to:
Remove the stems from the strawberries, put them in your shaker and muddle them. Add the mint and muddle again.
Add the rest of the ingredients, add ice and shake well
Add crushed ice to a rocks glass, then strain the contents of the shaker over the ice.
Top up with a splash or two of soda water (especially if you're not using crushed ice, or if the strawberries are not ripe enough)0
Garnish with the mint sprig and strawberry slices
Enjoy!
If crushed ice isn't available, use whatever ice you have; you'll still enjoy this cocktail, don't worry
I use grenadine for an extra bit of sweetness and colour, if the strawberries are not fully ripe, otherwise I omit it.
