Red & White Grape Jam - Easy Recipe

Red & White Grape Jam

Super delicious grape jam, very easy to make.

I usually make a small batch of both, as I like them both equally, but you can pick and choose whichever type of jam you desire.

You will need:

Red & White Grape Jam

For the Red Grape Jam

  • 1200g red grapes

  • 500g caster sugar

  • 100 ml water

Red & White Grape Jam

For the White Grape Jam

  • 1200g white grapes

  • 350g caster sugar

  • 100 ml water

How to:

  1. Remove the grapes from the stems then wash and drain them

  2. Put the grapes in a pan then put the sugar on top of the grapes

  3. Leave them to stand for 2-3 hours

  4. Put the pan on medium heat and add the water to the pan

  5. Once the mixture starts boiling, make sure to stir it every once in a while, with a wooden spoon/spatula

  6. Simmer for 25-30 minutes

  7. If the type of grapes you use has a lot of seeds after 20 minutes of simmering you can put the mixture through a sieve/strainer, put the seedless mixture back into the pan and continue simmering for a few more minutes. If you're using seedless grapes please skip this step.

  8. Remove the pan from the stove and leave it to cool slightly

  9. Put the jam into your sterilised jars of choice and seal it with the lids

  10. Serve this delicious jam with toasted bread, croissants, or use it to make your favorite pastries or cakes.

  11. Enjoy!

  • You can use whatever type of grapes you have available. You don't need to slice or peel the grapes.

  • The only extra work you might need to do is for grapes with a lot of seeds - once the boiling mixture becomes more liquid, you can pass it through a sieve or strainer to remove the seeds, then continue boiling the jam for a few more minutes, until it reaches a more solid consistency.

  • You can keep this jam in the cupboard, at room temperature for up to a year, but after opening the jar, please keep it in the fridge

  • You can add a bit of lemon juice to the boiling mixture, as it can help with preservation and setting.

  • If you want a bigger batch of these jams, just double or triple the quantities

  • When it comes to serving this delicious jam, I prefer to enjoy it with toasted crusty bread, paired with cheese on a charcuterie board, or added to other recipes such as Papanasi
