A super easy-to-make and highly delicious cake, ready in no time

Pear, Plum & Chocolate Chip Cake


You will need:


  • 2 eggs

  • 2 pears

  • 8 plums

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 50g milk or dark chocolate chips

  • 150g sugar

  • 125g butter/dairy-free alternative

  • 170g plain flour

  • vanilla extract/flavouring

How to:


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/ gas 4

  2. Line the bottom of a 9inch cake tin with baking paper and use a teaspoon of butter/dairy-free spread to butter the edges

  3. Slice the pears in half and core them, then chop them into small cubes

  4. Slice the plums in half, remove the stones, then chop the plums into small cubes

  5. In a large bowl mix the butter and sugar

  6. Add the vanilla extract, and eggs and mix

  7. Add the flour and baking powder and mix well

  8. Add the chopped plums, chopped pears and chocolate chips and mix gently

  9. Pour the batter into the cake tin and bake at 180C/gas 4 for 35-40 (minutes or until a toothpick/wooden skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean)

  10. Remove the cake from the cake tin and leave it to cool down completely on a cooling rack before slicing

  11. Enjoy!

  • Make sure to wait for the cake to be completely cooled down, otherwise it will be crumbly

  • You can serve this delicious cake as it is, or paired with a dollop of whipped cream or caramel ice cream

  • This recipe can be made gluten-free as well as dairy-free if substituting plain flour and butter for their alternatives and using dark (dairy-free) chocolate chips

  • Kept in an air-tight container, at room temperature, this delicious cake will last for 3-4 days.
