An Irish coffee liqueur made with Arabica Coffee Beans and Temris Irish Whiskey

A bit about

Black Twist Hard Coffee is an Irish coffee liqueur made with Brazilian Arabica Coffee beans and Temris Irish Whiskey. The coffee is cold-brewed in the whisky for seven days, after which it is lightly sweetened.

It has 25% ABV.

It smells absolutely delicious - freshly brewed coffee with a hint of vanilla and chocolate

To begin with, I've tried it simply poured over ice, and frankly, I could have finished the bottle just like that. It has a beautiful balance between the strong coffee and the Irish whisky; it's not overly sweet (which usually makes me stay away from some coffee liqueurs), and it's quite velvety even though it contains no cream.

I honestly cannot fault it.

So far, I've tried this one in a spiced latte, a chocolate espresso martini, an Irish coffee, a White Russian and many, oh so many whisky espresso martinis.

Pros and Cons

It has the right ABV for me, mellow enough to be enjoyed over ice, but strong enough for the flavours to be easily recognisable in cocktails.

If you like your coffee liqueurs to be very low ABV and with cream, then this is not the one for you, but if you enjoy them with a bit more of a kick, the right amount of sweetness and a strong coffee aroma, then please do yourself a favour and try this one.

In Conclusion

Priced at around £25 on most UK websites, I think it's a delightful coffee liqueur to enjoy whether over ice or in your favourite coffee-based cocktail.
