Glen Moray Classic Single Malt (Whisky Review)

Found in Elgin, the Glen Moray Distilerries have been producing whisky for more than 120 years. As mentioned when talking about The Glenlivet, a glen is a type of deep and narrow valley and since Elgin is found in the Scottish County of Moray, I think we can easily figure out where the name of this lovely whisky comes from.

Glen Moray Classic Single Malt is a Scotch whisky from the Speyside region. It has 40% ABV and it's matured in American oak casks. This one is part of Classics Collections launched in 2014.

There's a lot of sweetness on the nose, very pleasant, a bit fruity and with a hint of vanilla. The taste is quite light, a bit sweet, with a citrusy finish.

I've tried it neat, with an ice cube and with a drop of water and I've enjoyed it in every instance. It's honestly very easy to drink.

Since it's so light and fruity, I decided to try it in a whisky sour as well as in an old-fashioned cocktail and I'm happy I did.

Considering its low price (between £20-£25 on most UK websites) and versatility, I think it's a great entry-level single-malt whisky.
